Melamine

A major corporate hotel chain came to Wessco International last year with an interesting challenge: they wanted to upgrade the quality of their guestrooms, while working within the confines of a tight budget. In order to accomplish this, they sought after a new line of guestroom products, coffee trays, tissue box covers, amenity trays, wastebaskets and a few other products. The client wanted these items to have a modern and upscale look, but their budget constraints seemed to limit their possibilities. We offered them a wide array of products made from different materials: resin, stainless steel and wood, but these options did not fit both pieces of criteria that our customer needed. We determined that the best option was to make the items out of melamine, a firm plastic that can be screen printed on and molded into any shape desired. The freedom of customization this great material has allowed us to create a unique product that met not only the high quality standard our customer desired, but it also maintained the low cost that they required. Wessco created a very nice set of cost-efficient products that helped fortify our customer's identity. Melamine offered the best of both worlds: unique customized items at a low cost. |
